When a special friend comes in to your life...

once in a while a special friend comes in to your life
and touches you in a wonderful way.
your personalities just seem to click,
and it seems as though your friendship has existed for years.
immediately there is a sense of trust and sincerity,
and a feeling of closeness develops instantly.

once in a while somebody special comes in to your life,
and right away you know you have found friend.
even after parting,that person leaves
such an impression that from time to time
for no reason, you think of that friend
and it makes you happy!!

Feel the lightness of your life!

Give away all you can give...
Don’t expect anything in return
Accept what ever you get, may be good; may be bad
But keep only the good and let go of bad
And feel that good with all your heart
And smile as if you will never have another chance
Take everything easy
And feel the lightness of your life
You may be left out tomorrow by all
But the enthusiasm you got by giving will never leave you

So be content with what you did ! not about what you got!!

59 years.... (Its back)

We are proud to say we are celebrating the 59th Independence of our Country, Sri Lanka, the “Pearl of the Indian Ocean”: as it was called once; but can we be happy my friends? Are we celebrating the Independence we gained or should Western countries celebrate it for getting rid of us? What happened to the country which was self sufficient with rice? What has happened? Why tons of rice is being imported to us? Why are we still a developing country? A was cable to export crops that was in excess after consumption by its citizens? Why do farmers commit suicide today? because they can’t sell their crops? Why can’t a girl go alone on a road in this country these days where it was said a girl can go from Peduruthuduaw to Dewundarathuduwa with a gem in her hand? Why the news papers are full of articles about rape cases murders and so many corruptions? Why there is lot of murder cases, rape cases, and so many other cases queued up in Courts? What has happened to the society which adored each other? What happened to the so called “DHAMMA DEEPAYA”? Did someone come and change it or did we ourselves change it to what it is today? Why is there an ethnic conflict in this small island where so many different races lived in harmony? What has happened to the country which was full of heroes? What if those heroes come back and see the present situation where they struggled to gain Independence from foreign rulers? Will they be merry to see we are paying debts for the people whom they chased away from this precious country of their’s? Actually can we call we are children of mother Sri Lanka anymore with our heads up? Can we my dear friends? In the Constitution Sri Lanka is called “Free, Sovereign and Independent Republic of Sri Lanka” My dear friends, is this country an independent, free country? Are we working to make it a free severing and independent country or are we just let it be there only in the Constitution? Constitution is the supreme law of the country, if you go through it there are laws which will make this country a heaven if practiced well; but does it happen? From the top to the bottom it is corrupt: we all know it my dear friends, but why do we turn deaf ears and blind eyes on them? This is our country! if we are not acting to protect it today, future… can we even think of a future? Are we developing our country or are we stepping towards the Stone Age again? So my dear sisters and brothers do you think we are doing the correct thing? Are we going to act like deaf, blind and dumb on all the things happening in our country? And can we say we are not part of all the things happening? Can we just wipe our hands saying we didn’t do them so the people who did them are to be blamed? Why? Why can’t we act to stop people who are doing wrong? My dear friends don’t boast of our history, yes we have a proud history but just being proud of it and celebrating an independence which is only history is a joke. Our ancestors struggled a lot to gain this so called Independence, why don’t we take examples from them? And try to make this country a better place to live? Think what have you done to make Mother Lanka proud of you? Just recall, how many times have you disobeyed the laws? How many times did you put blind eyes on corruptions and aided and abetted them? THINK my dear brothers and sisters, before it is too late and act today because prevention is better than cure. And let’s not be a burden to our Lanka Matha but make her proud of us. She needs us my dear friends she is waiting for us. So why are we waiting? We are the ones who give them the power so when they are misusing it we have to stand again it’s our duty. So let’s act today and I am sure it will give us the opportunity to celebrate the Independence in the true sense of the word.

the above post was published by me last February, as mentioned in the following link i removed it. but as i removed it my friend (;-) i am not his friend anymore though i consider him as my friend..)has taken it for granted that i have copied from him. Walk on your own!

Life is a journey... we have to walk on our own. Hills, valleys, rains, floods, snow, sun whatever comes we have to walk.... But you should never look down at your feet when you are traveling down the road. Keep your eyes focused on what you want to reach... what is true!
Keep your head up and your eyes focused on what you know to be true. Be neither a follower nor a leader. You are not forsaken; you are forgiven, and when shadows exist simply find higher ground to tread upon. If you come across an obstacle or an impasse, pay mind to it but don’t focus on it for too long or your feet may sink into the quicksand that surrounds it. Find the courage to surmount it and continue on your journey.
Offer your hand to those you come across who are stuck in their own personal sand traps, but do not point them in the direction you feel they must go, that has to be their decision. And never expect anything in return. Give what you can give. Only imply to them that they are never alone, and they will eventually find their way. When you get to where you are going and you look back, it is your own footprints you are going to want to see, not someone else’s. The importance of your trials and tribulations is a gift to be beholden, for that is how you will learn who you truly are.

Little Candle

Once upon a time a little candle stood in a room filled with other candles, most of them much larger and much more beautiful than she was. Some were ornate and some were rather simple, like her. Some were white, some were blue, some were pink, and some were green. She had no idea why she was there, and the other candles made her feel rather small and insignificant.
When the sun went down and the room began to get dark, she noticed a large man walking toward her with a ball of fire on a stick. She suddenly realized that the man was going to set her on fire. No, no!! She cried, Aaaaagghhh! Don't burn me, please! But she knew that she could not be heard and prepared for the pain that would surely follow.
To her surprise, the room filled with light. She wondered where it came from since the man had extinguished his fire stick. To her delight, she realized that the light came from herself.
Then the man struck another fire stick and, one by one, lit the other candles in the room. Each one gave out the same light that she did.
During the next few hours, she noticed that, slowly, her wax began to flow. She became aware that she would soon die. With this realization came a sense of why she had been created. Perhaps my purpose on earth is to give out light until I die, she mused. And that's exactly what she did.
I feel this story which was in a mail reflects my life. Yesterday I faced the most embarrassing situation in my life...! I thought of adding that part to the little candle as well.
Sometimes there are places which should left in dark. when a candle is lit on a place where the darkness should remain, someone will blow it up and may throw the candle away even before her time expires. So don’t lit a candle where you don’t need light bcz it will not do the purpose she is made for! Just because a candle is made to give light, what is the use if she is lit on a place where light is not needed?
Little candle…
burn yourself on the correct place and illuminate the place where you are needed, because place to place occasion to occasion the candles needed is different. Sometimes a little candle can help sometimes it is not enough. At times that place may need a scented candle or may be a larger and much more beautiful candle, where a simple candle has no place. So little candle... do what you are needed for because just because you want you can’t illuminate a big palace!

End Or Begining...

Do your part!

you can make a big difference in one's life...
may be that one will never know what you did
and may be later you need something
'that one' could have easily given you...
but you didn't get what you want…
don't regret!!!
because you did what you can do
you can't do what others have to do
be content, you did your part!!
because what matters most is what you give; not what you get!!!

A compromise or a confrontation?

“My dear…. I did not see you for the whole day… when did you come darling?”
“Hey mum... Now you can’t meet me that easily! Now I am a big officer in a big company… you have to knock before you come in to my room and…”
This is a part of a conversation I happened to hear between a mother and a well-educated son.Without even knowing my eyes were wet (but knowing the son I am sure this was a joke. but there are things like this which happen in reality, not only for jokes. so thought of jotting down the above conversation as well.).
I m curious!!!!“What has happened to the society today?”
I can’t believe this my friends! Can anyone tell me why??
Is this what a mother who faces agony to give birth to a child and spend her whole life to see her child grow up and well established in society gets in return…? Every year’s second Sunday in May allocated for her; Is that all what she gets? what she deserves?

With her compassion a mother will not say a single word to hurt her child, but children! Why children do like this to their parents? This is a society, which enriched a culture, which was adored by the entire world. What happened to the culture we had? The culture where adults were considered superior; where the society valued good qualities to money? Have people gone to the Stone Age again? What has happened to the morals? Has they faded away with the development in the economy?
These questions have been bothering me for a long time but after hearing a story few days back I thought of asking you through horizOon. However Until today I didn’t get the opportunity. As it is world’s mother’s day I guess there is no other better day to write on this…
I thought of sharing that touching story in addition.I am really sorry to hear this story even and I am sure you too will feel it.
A mother of about eighty year has been abandoned in a government quarters by her educated son and daughter in law. The couple that built a new house has moved out to their new home leaving the mother alone in the public place. The son has asked the mother to find shelter before the government takes the premises back. The mother who has no aid after left over by her only son is in the government quarters till someone else occupies it. She leads her life in misery. The old lady does not have an income or any assistance. A neighbor who went with some food to her one day, has found the mother eating a scrap of bread which was about two days old with a piece of salt with great difficulty.
Can you imagine my friends a mother who expended her whole life to see her child grow up and be a government officer is living like this? A mother who turns her red blood in to milk to feed her child; what did she got in return? “A scrap of bread with fungus on it with salt” is that what she deserves????
They have assigned
a day for mothers…. Do we need a day for mothers my dear friends??? If mother loved you and treated you equally on everyday of her life why do we have a date named for her??? Will a bouquet of flower; a card will repay what she gave her child? Can we just wipe our hands thinking we celebrated mother’s day and that is all we have to do for our mother? Will it pay our debts for our mum?
I guess it is time for you to think… are we going to think of our beloved mother only on that so-called mothers day?? What is the meaning of celebrating a day for her name if the children do not treat their mothers well?
This is pathetic my friends! This is a society, which treasured morals more than anything, but today? It seems people have forgotten their values! Above is not the first story and if we don’t act fast it will not be the last either! People are in a race.
Money and fame… is that all matters? Please my friends don’t let them blind fall and forget their values! Don’t let them forget they are humans! Come my friends its time to open your eyes before it is too late. Don’t let money seize our values!!!

You decide!

life is so strange... when you love something you lose it... most of the time life offers you what you don't like....
the success in your life depends on how you accept life's offerings...
it is up to you to take the decision....
be a winner or a loser?
You decide...
just accept your limitations and then go beyond them...
what you get in life is how you accept what you get...

so take the challenge!!

Concealed & profound!

A love given from far away...
A love which is hardly shown…
A love no one can ever deny...
A love hidden in heart but given completely...

Can there be a love like a father???

No ExpeCtations!

Sometimes life offers situations where one feels that life cannot go further…
Where you feel so much lost in you…
Where you look up for guidance…

Where you so much need a hand to hold...

Yearn to hear a caring word...

A shoulder to cry on is all what you are looking for….

A person next to you and listen to you is what is desired most...

Softly spoken words of a friend…

Sharing a laugh of your friend…

What else can you imagine for??

Yes my friend that was all I expected from you too….

But…. today I am alone with a shattered image!

When I needed you most in my life you have left me….

Wish I have words to tell you how much I miss you,
Talking to you, sharing with you…..

Didn't
I tell you I need you….??
I told you is not it??

“Am I not a friend of yours?”
I wonder…
‘Cause you have blind folded my plea….

I asked myself why??
Still I didn’t get an answer!

All of a sudden it seems all is wrong….
You are not there with me today….

I feel something is missing in my life…

I am waiting to hear your voice to share a giggle,

Be who we were….

But I can see the image is blurring just before my eyes….

Never have I felt tiered of waiting like this...

I have been waiting for a long time,

Thinking you will come to me, hold my hand and be with me

And be my friend as u promised...
Today I am lonely without you
I can’t help without wondering what happened...

I am without any expectations….
Not a single hope to have you back

Remember my friend...
I treasure you more than you can imagine…
I want life's best to come in your way…

Take good care of you my friend!!!

You mean so much to me….!
